Services
There are a lot of smaller businesses out there that need a website but don't want to spend thousands of dollars to make one. I'm here to help solve that problem. With over many years of experience in making websites for personal use and professional use I have come to the conclusion that many people need sites just to get information out on the web. They don't need something huge and fancy with flashing images. What they do need is something that doesn't look like it was put together by a page builder to help look more professional in what they do.
I'm available to take on a small handful of freelance projects. I'm open to do websites for personal sites, small business sites, or non-profit organization websites.
Prices
Since I'm only available to doing the smaller sites I can give you a rough estimate to the cost. These prices do not include the price of your domain or hosting service.
Layout and 5 pages - $200-400 (A one time fee)
Extra Pages - Range from $10 to $40 bucks a page
You should have some idea how many pages you will want, but this can all be worked out before I begin work to help you know exactly what the cost will be.
Before any work is started a fee of 50 dollars or more will be asked of you. This will not be an extra payment, it will be taken out of your overall charge. This is to help keep both ends interested in the project. If you decide to pull out at any time, this money will not be refunded.
Maintenance
After the site is completed and you decide you will need me to stick around to help update and make small changes to your site from time to time you can ask about the different maintenance fees. These fees range from $10 to $70 dollars a month depending on your specific needs. Charges are done yearly.
Payments
I only take payments through paypal online, a safe and secure payment method. You do not need to have an account to be able to pay me and I will accept e-checks and credit cards of all kinds.
If we can meet in person I take payments by cash or check. If you want to pay with a credit card you will need to go through paypal.

Below are some tips for web design as well as some of the guidelines I use when building a website. It will help give you an idea on what to expect from me.
Clean and Professional LayoutMost people know that the best looking websites are the ones with the simplest design. This is because it makes it easier for people to navigate and find things. If your site has a lot of clutter or things to distract a person with, the visitor might just leave in search of another site. Here is some information to help keep visitors on the site Keep pages short! No one wants to read through a web page that is over two screen lengths long. If you have a lot of information about a certain topic, it is best to separate them out. This helps keep your visitors from being overwhelmed with to much information. Too many pictures can be deadly on a page when it comes to loading, but no pictures can seem boring. Balance it out well. Galleries are an exception. Don't make things hard to find and keep every page with the same structure so that visitors don't get confused and think they are on a different site. If you are going to have an animation or a flash be sure to make it goes slow enough so it doesn't make the visitors eyes spin. Something that moves too fast will distract the visitor from anything else on the site as well. |
Coded in xhtml 1.0, css, and phpI choose to code every layout with proper XHTML 1.0 and CSS (cascading style sheets) in accordance to W3c Web Standards. I will also write every page in PHP. What that means is, instead of your pages ending in .html or .htm it will end in .php. There are many advantages to this such as-
XHTML 1.0 is just a more valid way of coding a website. There are many things that are now obsolete on the web such a frames. This won't matter to you if you aren't doing any of the updating. CSS is an external file that helps form every page of the website to have the same look so that you do not have to have a string of code for every word you put into the site. If you want your font to all be 14px, tahoma, and blue, CSS will make it so that every page will have the same properties unless otherwise stated. |
Cross-browser Compatibility
There are many web browsers on the net and they are all very different in what they will be compatible with. Some of those browsers include, Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera, Netscape, and Safari.

I will make sure that your website works and looks good in all of these browsers. That is where the XHTML 1.0 and CSS comes in. Using the proper coding will help me achieve this.
